Hey there!

I'm Ellesa Sabasaje

I’m a digital product designer with a strong focus on UX design and research, specializing in machine learning and AI experiences.

I’m home grown from Manila, and I have been working professionally as a designer since 2008, but I've been passionate about design even way longer than that.

Super happy to have finally met the Father of Usability, Jakob Nielsen
at the NNGroup Conference in HK!

In my journey through design, I'm grateful to have had the privilege to work with really cool projects in new fields of design and technology, and with amazing people. I'm still working hard to do right by those people and my team.

I've tackled some challenges related to healthcare, education, telecommunications, finance, customer service and gaming, and quite recently, artificial intelligence.

The way I see the world is very language-driven. I listen for nuances, connections and patterns. I take that to any interaction with clients or users, because of this I've learned to stay curious and to ask really good questions.

I personally enjoy working on projects that require both strategy and design. I love to be involved in the ideation stages, while providing support in the execution.

I'm both proud and humbled to say that my designs have been instrumental in raising series-A funding for an AI-based startup. My approach to working with clients' agents and users played a significant role in securing their loyalty, retention and ongoing engagement.

When I'm not designing or getting lost in a good book, I'm working out in the gym, or travelling somewhere off-the-beaten-path (or "ridiculously crazy," as my friends call it)—climbing to the acid crater of Mt. Ijen to find a Geocache, hiking to hidden beaches in Koh Rong, surfing secret spots in Siargao, paragliding in Bali, sliding down the Great Wall of China, or sampling the best mountain goat butter tea in Beijing—or thinking about my next adventure.
